American Miklat Committee (AMC) is the American arm of Miklat-Bat Melech, Israel’s most comprehensive network of services for women and children seeking to escape the vise of domestic abuse. It is the only organization in Israel which provides domestic abuse shelters and services catering to the needs of Israel’s observant women and their children, as well as to the broad population of domestic abuse victims.

In addition to two shelters, Miklat-Bat Melech operates the Nigunim hostel for teen girls, a 24-hour emergency hotline and the Israel Center for Family Justice, which provides legal aid free of charge to all Israeli women in need.

AMC is devoted to raising awareness and supportive funds in North America for Miklat-Bat Melech. Through on-going events, mailings, educational programs and other outreach initiatives we strive to do all we can for the women and children in Israel who need to escape from abusive home environments. Through Miklat-Bat Melech, victims – mothers, children, teens - are provided with physical shelter, therapies, training and transitional services. Along with the loving staff of Miklat-Bat Melech, AMC is committed to helping domestic abuse victims in Israel rebuild their lives.
